A Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will ensure Victorian charities are protected from the financial hit of the Andrews Labor Government’s landfill levy.
This will save Victorian charities around $1.5 million per year.
Currently, unlike in other states, Victorian charities aren’t rebated the costs of landfill levies.
A Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will ensure that Victorian charities are protected from the cost impact of the landfill levy with a fully-funded relief program.
Leader of the Liberal Party, Matt Guy, said the Liberals and Nationals have real solutions to ensure the ongoing viability of local charities across Victoria.
“Charities deserve every cent they can get, and frankly it is uncharitable that the Andrews Labor Government is forcing charities to pay this levy,” Mr Guy said.
“Providing financial certainty for charities is a real solution to help local communities across Victoria.”
Shadow Minister for Environment, James Newbury, said only a change of Government will give charities the financial certainty they need and deserve.
“Our plan will end the cycle of uncertainty for charities and allow them to focus on supporting local communities,” Mr Newbury said.
