Statement from the Shadow Attorney-General

Tuesday 17 March 2026
Today in parliament, Premier Jacinta Allan has continued her cover-up of the largest corruption scandal in Victoria’s history.
For weeks, the Premier has failed to disclose allegations of major project corruption made to her, including warnings from, Kevin Devlin, the head of Victoria’s lead transport infrastructure agency.
This repeated failure exposes the Premier’s hypocrisy and confirms Labor’s culpability in the rorting and loss of at least $15 billion of taxpayer money.
Tomorrow, the Liberals and Nationals will seek to pass new laws to provide Victoria’s chief anti-corruption watchdog with the powers it has asked for and needs to allow it to chase down every single taxpayer dollar rorted under the Allan Labor Government’s watch.
Our team will seek to put to a vote, the Independent Broad-based Anti-Corruption Commission Amendment (Follow the Money) Bill 2026.
Premier Allan and Labor face a clear test – vote to support our laws to strengthen Victoria’s anti-corruption laws or vote to continue the cover-up.
