Historic Elwood Tree
HELP SAVE OUR HISTORIC TREE, WHICH IS ALSO HOME TO A WONDERFUL COCKATOO FAMILY.
Our beautiful tree, on the banks of the canal, is historic and a wonderful part of our community.
The tree is also home to a Sulphur-crested cockatoo family.
Because of unreasonable bushfire-related regulations imposed by the State Labor Government, the tree has been marked for the chain saw.
We call on Port Philip Council to save the tree and the home of the cockatoo family.
And we call on the State Labor Government to exempt the tree from the axe and review bushfire-related regulations to recognise that city and country trees and shrubs may need to be treated differently, not cut down as a default.
