Heavy Traffic on Cochrane Street, Brighton

ARE YOU CONCERNED ABOUT THE HEAVY TRAFFIC ON COCHRANE STREET, BRIGHTON?

The community is becoming increasingly concerned about heavy traffic use of Cochrane Street, Brighton (between North Road and Martin Street) and the safety risks to the local community.

A traffic survey recorded that an average 5,500 vehicles each day, including heavy vehicles, use this local residential road as an alternative route to North Road.

The community is calling on the State Labor Government and local Council to implement traffic management measures to reduce through-traffic, restrict inappropriate heavy vehicles, and the improve safety and amenity of the street.
