Bayside Police Station Closure

ARE YOU OPPOSED TO REDUCED HOURS AT BAYSIDE POLICE STATION?

Police resourcing is a significant issue in Bayside and we know that there has been a huge increase in crime in our community. Only a few years ago, home invasions and aggravated residential burglaries were not common. Brighton is now victim to the most aggravated residential burglaries in inner Melbourne. We also know that Brighton East, Elwood, Hampton, and Hampton East have also been victim to crime regularly.

The State Labor Government, through Victoria Police, have announced the night time closure of forty three (43) police stations. Bayside Police Station will no longer be a twenty four (24) hour a day station. The station will close at night.
