Land Tax
ARE YOU OPPOSED TO THE STATE LABOR GOVERNMENT’S OUTRAGEOUS LAND TAX INCREASES?
Land taxes are nothing more than an unjust class based attack by the State Labor Government on property owners.
The rates of increase each year do not match actual property value changes, leading many to describe the Government’s tax as highway robbery.
We know that whilst Labor has been in Government:
- The recent State Budget confirmed that $21.5 billion – nearly half of Victoria’s tax take – will be raised from property across 2024-25, including $7.8 billion in land tax, $10.1 billion in stamp duty, $1.49 billion in COVID debt levy on landholdings, $1 billion in fire services levy and $250 million in the growth area infrastructure contribution levy.
- Victoria’s net debt has increased from $21.8 billion to a projected $187.8 billion by 2028, with interest repayments set to hit almost $26 million each and every day.
- And total tax revenue has increased from $17.8 billion to a projected $45 billion over the same period.
