CONSTITUENCY QUESTION

‘LINDSAY STREET, BRIGHTON’.

My constituency question is to the Premier, and I ask: when will the Premier step in to stop Lindsay Street, Brighton, being wrecked because of Labor’s planning attack on Bayside?

Residents across Bayside know that Labor plans to wreck our community. Labor has approved an 8-kilometre-long development zone from Brighton to Sandringham.

The activity centre will allow towers up to 16 storeys high to be built in Bayside, with six-storey developments in residential streets.

A number of our residential streets are already under attack, with developers proposing to build an $18 million six-storey tower housing 25 apartments in quiet, residential Lindsay Street.

The Liberal Party have made clear that we will rip up Labor’s activity centre plans in communities that do not want them, like Bayside.

Residents are outraged that Labor will try to ram through a small number of developments before the election.

Residents have said about the Lindsay Street proposal that they are disgusted, it is totally inappropriate and completely out of character, and these controls may all but destroy some of the most beautiful suburbs.

Vote Liberal to protect our community.
