Statement from the Shadow Attorney-General

Wednesday, 7 October 2026

The Independent Broad-Based Anti-Corruption Commission’s Public sector agency responses to IBAC’s recommendations report re-enforces what Victorians know.

The report, which audits 260 recommendations across reports between 2014 and 2025, lays clear that corruption has allowed to flourish in Victoria, and the Andrews-Allan-Carroll Labor Government has at times been slow to act and on other occasions refused to act on the Commission’s corruption finding.

It is concerning that of the 260 recommendations made across that time, 10 per cent have been partially implemented and 6 per cent have no implementation planned.

The Liberals and Nationals commit to reassessing the outstanding recommendations, including both those partially implemented and where no action has been taken, to ensure action is taken where this current Government has refused to act.

The risk to corruption in Victoria has been proven. It is not good enough that our chief integrity agencies recommendations have been left to stagnate. If elected, the Liberal and Nationals will pick up where Labor has failed and clean up Victoria.
